Cylinders vs. Cones and Prisms vs. Pyramids- Compare and Contrast

Cylinders and cones:
The Area of a circle is used to find the area of both cylinder and cone. A difference between the two is that a cylinder has two bases, while the cone only has one. Both of these bases for each shape is a circle.

Prisms and Pyramids:
Both prisms and Pyramids can include a triangle. A prism also has two bases while the pyramid only has one base. You can find the lateral area of both of these shapes by adding up all the sides, but not the bases.

"Princess of Parallelograms"

Anne Isabella Byron was known as the "Princess of Parallelograms" because of her love of math. She studied as a Cambridge student, and along with math, she studied science and philosophy as well. Lord Byron, her husband, gave her the nickname of "Princess of Parallelograms". Lord Byron and Anne were married in secret, and after a few months, Lord Byron took out his anger of being in financial debt on Anne. He assumed she broke into a locked cabniet and then had an affair. Anne gave birth to their daughter, Ada, and Anne and Lord Byron separated a little after their 1 year anniversary. After they were separated, the thoughts, memorys, and the actual Lord Byron himself haunted Anne. He died later in 1824.
Ada grew up and had children, and a good life, until age 36, when she died of unknown cancer. Anne was with her daughter at her deathbed, and seh herself passed away from breast cancer one day before her 68th birthday.

April 18, 2012. Area

The area formula is the same for a rectangle, square, and parallelogram because these shapes might change when they are formed differently, but the dimentions and measurements will stay the same.

The length of Tennessee is about 430 miles, and the width is about 110 miles. That would make the area of Tennessee 47,300 sq. miles.
The actual area of Tennessee is 42,144 sq. miles, seeing as Tennessee isn't an exact parallelogram.

Chapter 10!

In chapter 10, I have learned about how There are many things involving circles. These things include chords, diameters, tangents, secants and much more. I have learned how to find the circumference, missing chords, and arc lengths by using different methods and equations. I have learned to find missing angles and segments of a quadrilateral inside a circle. Some careers that use methods like this include meteorologists, astronomers and many more. A question I still have is how to find missing angles with tangent and secant lines.
